How To Train Your Dragon (2010)

How To Train Your Dragon is one of the absolute favorites of all the DreamWorks films I’ve watched over the years. The movie begins in Berk, a Viking village where Vikings and dragons have always been at war with each other. One Viking named Hiccup wants to be like the others until one day he meets a dragon—a Night Fury, to be precise. He shoots it down and is ready to end its life, but in a moment of clarity, he chooses compassion and sets it free. He named the Dragon Toothless, and they discovered many interesting things about each other. It’s important to hear both sides of the story—like why they might be stealing food or “Why they would attack us when we haven’t done anything to them?”. Grasping the true essence of a story is essential; actively listening or viewing is the most effective way to achieve that understanding. Understanding a person or animal helps build a strong bond based on trust. Building trust creates a strong connection and promotes peace. For this movie, I would give it an A+++ for demonstrating that there is a reason why people act the way they do to survive or feel safe.
