The Pagemaster (1994)

The Pagemaster is an entertaining way to learn that reading is the most wonderful thing in the world. The story revolves around Richard Tyler, a young boy who fears everything and always takes safety first. One day, while riding his bike to get something for his father at the store, he got caught in a terrible storm that forced him to take shelter at the library. Once there, he becomes an illustration created by the Pagemaster, keeper of the books and guardian of written words. To return home, Richard must confront three challenges: Horror, Adventure, and Fantasy. Along the way, he meets books who can walk and talk. They must find their way through the library so Richard can check them out and return home. This film is one of the greatest I have ever seen because it features many classic stories such as Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Moby Dick, and, of course, Treasure Island. Inspiring stories enable us to soar and motivate us to achieve remarkable things in our lives. Reading is vital in life, as it liberates your imagination, allowing you to create what your heart desires. This movie stars famous actors and actresses like Macaulay Culkin, Christopher Lloyd, Patrick Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, and Frank Welker. This movie receives an A+++++++ for demonstrating that reading can be enjoyable and inspiring. Reading opens your eyes to many possibilities in life.

  1. Good review. I loved this movie growing up. Learning on the classic and seeing the adventures come to life. Like the Pagemaster himself says “Fiction A to Z….where all is possible!”
