Disney’s Fun & Fancy Free (1947)

Disney has always made incredible stories through their movies since 1937. This one has always taught me not to worry too much about what might not happen or if something will happen now or later. Fun & Fancy Free tells two stories, one called “Bongo” & “Mickey and the Beanstalk”, which is narrated by Dinah Shore and Edgar Bergen. Now Bongo was based on a book called “Little Bear Bongo” written by Sinclair Lewis, back in the 1930s. It tells the story of a circus bear named Bongo who escapes to live in the forest to be a normal bear, he falls in love with a girl bear named Lulubelle. The last story “Mickey and the Beanstalk” is a parody of the classic fairytale “Jack and the Beanstalk”. Now Bongo is narrated by Dinah Shore an American actress and singer while “Mickey and the Beanstalk” is narrated by Edgar Bergen, a famous ventriloquist, and his two puppets, Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd. Another guest star appears in the movie, she is called Luana Patten, who appears in the second half of the movie. The movie also has Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Jiminy Cricket, who is voiced by the same person who voiced him in the (1940) Pinocchio, Cliff Edwards. Now this movie both segments tell different things about not worrying so much and looking for the bright side of things and that things will get better if you have hope. If you worry so much about the future or past your fear will take control over you and try to run your life. So this movie, I give it an A+ for teaching us not to worry so much and to look on the bright side of things. Here’s a link to get the movie on DVD. https://amzn.to/4fpOyZA
