Lilo and Stitch have been a childhood treasure of mine. I’ve experienced many fantastic films over the years, but this one is my 2nd all-time favorite. The story starts in a galaxy far from our solar system. An alien scientist named Jumba Jookiba has just been charged with creating illegal experiments like Stitch (aka Experiment 626). When Jumba was found guilty of his crimes, Stitch was banished from their solar system to live on an Asteroid, but he escaped and crashed landed on Earth. Stitch meets a human girl named Lilo, who adopts him as her pet. Family is a great topic to teach your kids because this film talks about what it means to be a family, whether you are adopted or biologically related to someone. Even if you are different and do many strange things, your family will never leave you behind, forget you, or stop loving you because that’s what Stitch learned. The movie’s setting takes place in Hawaii, and let me say it was the right choice to create the film. Some of the songs were performed by Elvis Presley like Burning Love, Suspicious Minds, and Stuck On You, and there are many songs to listen to, and while learning what it means to be in a family. In the words of Lilo and her older sister Nani Ohana meaning, family & family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. So, for Lilo & Stitch, I give it an A+ for teaching us what being a family means to us all.
