The Emperor’s New Groove is a fantastic old animation classic made in 2000 by Walt Disney. The story is about an emperor named Kuzco who lives in an Incan empire and is very selfish and prideful. One day he is turned into a llama by his right hand advisor Yzma and her assistant Kronk. In order for Kuzco to return to the palace to be changed back into a human he enlists the help of a villager named Pacha and together they go through many dangers and silly moments to help him find his way back home and to find himself again. I think the movie is a way for children and adults to learn about what it means to be not selfish and to think of others first. By doing those things you can become a great leader one day and by helping others through many obstacles through life. So for “The Emperor’s New Groove” I give it an A- because it shows us not to be selfish through life and what can happen if you continue to be selfish. The movie is inspired by Peruvian culture to show kids what other cultures look like then. There are some things depicted that did not exist during that culture but Disney was just trying to make it more entertaining and funny. John Goodman played an excellent Pacha in the movie. You can tell he really felt the part for playing an animated character. Here’s a link if you want to get the movie on DVD and enjoy it. https://amzn.to/3RZdWv7
